Chapter 3

Everett staired at the egg-shapped object the size of van, sticking out of the ground. There was a hiss and a hatch oppened, succeeded by a figure, who staggered in a nearly drunken manner. He colapsed on the ground and started to convolse. Everett ran over and beheald a man in great distress. "Are you Ok?" Everett managed. The man only staired back. There was something in those eyes, like a crack of lightning, that flashed with such intensity that Everett would have swore that he felt it. But as swiftly as lightning hits, it also fades back into the storm. Pollix's eyes roled back into his head as the spasms became more violent. The poisen coursed through his veins. His muscles tensed and back arched, then with a nosiating crack, and wince from Everett, Pollix colapsed on the ground and contined to twich. Everett opened his mouth to scream, only the rush of air came out. He stood, paralised, for a moment then turned and ran, stumbeling at first. Everett pushed through the door and fell against the stairs, clinging to the rail for suport. "So, Sport, what was it?" Everett was about to answer when he had a thought... that wasn't his.
{Don't tell him the truth.}
"Uh, a tree fell down." "Thats what I thought, we'll chop it up saturday." "I'm going to do homework, I'll be in my room." Everett wasn't quite sure what had happened, but as he walked up to his room, he couldn't help but wonder what he had heard.
{No one said anything, I thought it. And I can read your thoughts .}
{O... ok, so who are you?}
{My name is Pollix, I am the man that you witnessed die.}
{But-}
{Shhh. There is much to explain, but there is also amply time.}
